The week of July 14th through July 18th was an exciting time for the Orthodox children in the Bethesda area. Our parish, along with St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, DC hosted a Vacation Church School for children ages three through rising sixth graders. The theme of the VCS was "Living in an Orthodox World" and was a special week for the students to learn about the importance of centering one's life around the liturgical services and prayer discipline of the Church. Each day was filled with music, a liturgical service, crafts, games, and a delicious kid-friendly lunch.
